Magistrale Translation Course: there will be no lesson on Tuesday 8th December (public holiday). The last lesson for this semestre will be Tuesday 15th Dec, 5pm, online.The lessons will begin again in the second semestre which begins on the 8th March 2021. sessione straordinaria on the 14th November - open only to students who are graduating in January 2021, students with disabilities, pregnant students, students enrolled in the 4th year or more (triennale) or 3rd year or more (magistrale), working students. You will need to provide proof of which category you belong to.
winter exams:
1° appello: Saturday 23rd January 2021.
2° appello: Wednesday 10th February 2021.
Instructions for 23rd January exam: the exam will be written and oral (open-book exam).
To sign up, you need to send me an email between 6th January and 23.59 on the 19th January with all the following information: your name, surmane, matricola number and uniroma1.it email address. You also need to tell me which exam you intend to sit (1st year triennale Mediazione, Magistrale translation exam, etc.) and whether you have already sat the exam before.
At 10.00 am on the 23rd January, I will send you the exam paper via email and you will be told how long you have to complete the paper (it will not be more than two hours). As you will be at home, without supervision, and with access to dictionaries, books, etc., the questions will be analytical in nature (a metalinguistic analysis of a text for 1st year Triennale – translation, commentary, theoretical analysis for Magistrale). At the end of the allotted time, you will return your answer to me, via email (you must use your institutional email for all these exchanges). Any papers that are not returned within the time limit will not be taken into consideration.
Once I know how many students have signed up for the exam, I will give you each a time slot for your oral exam. You will be given the link on the 23rd to join a GoogleMeet or Zoom session on the following day(s). During this oral exam, the discussion will be based around the written paper you produced on the 23rd and on the bibliography in general. The discussion will be in English. You will be given your mark and instructions for registering the mark. Please do NOT sign up on Infostud until you have your mark.
